존 고든이 지은 에너지 버스라는 책을 읽었다. 번역 자체가 상당히 잘 되어있어 서체가 간결하고 읽기 편하게 되어있어 빠르게 읽을 수 있는 책이다. 항상 비관적인 삶을 살았던 조지가 에너지버스에 타게 되면서 고쳐먹는 과정을 그린 내용이다. 마지막에는 이런 문구가 나오는데, 95세 이상 노인들에게 ‘만약 다시 태어난다면 지금과 무엇이 달라지고 싶냐’ 라는 질문에
1. 감정을 더 많이 표현하고 싶다. 더 많이 순간을 즐기고 기뻐하며, 해가 뜨는 것과 지는 것을 더 깊이 음미할 것이다.
2. 과감하게 기회를 행해 도전해보고 싶다. 시도해보지도 않고 흘려보내기엔 인생이 너무 짧다.
3. 내가 죽은 후에도 사람들이 나를 기억해줄 무언가를 남기고 싶다. 후세에게 유익한 유산을 남기고 싶다.
라고 답했다. 과거를 돌아보며 후회하는 삶을 살아서는 안되고, 잃는 것은 없고 얻을 것만 있는 자세로 살아가는 것이 좋을 것이라는 해석이다.
읽으면 읽을 수록 긍정적인 에너지의 기운이 느껴지는 책이다.

아마 블로깅을 하는 사람이라면 누구든 youtube에서 브리튼스 갓 탤런트 (Britain’s got talent) 에서 우승을 한 폴포츠를 봤을 것이다. 가난과 지병, 교통사고에도 핸드폰 판매원을 하면서 자신의 꿈을 꿋꿋하게 일궈낸 사람이다.
그가 한국 서울광장에서 공연을 했다. 감미로우면서 감성적인 그리고 파워풀한 음성은 서울 시내로 퍼져나갔다. 많은 사람들은 폴포츠의 음성을 들으며 행복해하는 듯 했다.
꿈을 이룬 멋진 사람. 나도 그 처럼 내 꿈을 향해 달릴 것이다.

2007년에 주식을 시작했다. 그때는 한창 호황이었기 때문에, 50% 의 수익률은 당연한 듯 싶었고 모든 직장인들이 이렇게 돈을 벌어 차를 사고 집을 산다고 믿었다. 2008년 경기가 점점 어두워지고 끝이 보이지 않을 정도로 급락해버렸다. 내가 투자했던 펀드와 주식들은 반토막이 나버렸고 지구가 금새 종말이라도 올 것처럼 뉴스에선 떠들어댔다. 돈을 버는 일이기에 한참 재밌게 주식을 했던 기억이난다. 하지만 나중에 얻은 경험은 시간은 버리고 결국 본전내지 손실이라는 것이다.
이 영화는 작전세력을 배경으로 한 영화다. 왜 개미들이 당하기만 하는지, 대박을 꿈꾸는 주식투자가 얼마나 허무한 것인지 잘 보여주는 영화라고 볼 수 있다. 작전의 기술에 대해서는 자세히 나오지 않지만 그들만의 세계는 좀 비춰지는 것 같아 이것저것 배울게 많은 영화였다.
이 영화를 보니 며칠전 “손오공” 이라는 종목이 생각났다 (손오공은 스타크래프트2 총판사업 예정이다). 며칠째 급등하다가 갑자기 이틀 연속 하한가를 맞았다. 영화에서 처럼 매수자가 없었기 때문에 매도를 할 수 없는 상황이었다. 주식은 고점 대비 거의 40% 빠진 뒤였다. 고점에서 신용거래로 산 개미들은 쪽박을 찬셈이다. 이처럼 주식은 허무한 것이다. 이 영화를 보면서 작전세력에 대해 느끼고 허무함을 달랬으면 한다.

학교 선배 정묵이형이 결혼했다. 항상 서로 장난으로 대하지만 마음도 자상하고 친절한 분이다. 그렇게 나이 차이가 많아 보이지 않던 형이 결혼하니, 막상 나도 결혼에 대해 다시 한번 생각해본다. 3년 뒤의 이 모습이 나라면…? 하는 생각에 푹 빠져버린다. 이렇게 가정이 생기고, 아이도 낳고 그렇게 한 사람의 인생이 가는구나. 참 슬픈일이다.
어쨌건, 살아온 날보다 앞으로 함께 할 날이 더 많은 두분의 행복과 가정의 건강이 모두 함께 하길 바래본다.

주말에는 크레벤의 백기락씨가 지은 1인 기업 성공시대라는 책을 읽었다. 리뷰만 보고 큰 기대를 하고 샀는데, 나에겐 정말 가치 없는 책이라고 느껴질 정도였다. 1인 기업이라는 개념은 뭐 익히 다들 알고 있는 대로 1인이 운영하는 기업이라는 의미이다. 다수가 운영하더라도 회사가 어려워져 직원들이 떠나더라도 1인이 운영할 수 있는 시스템이라면 1인 기업이라고 부르는 것이다.
1인 기업을 준비하고 있는 사람들이 원하는 내용은 이론적인 개념과 통계자료가 아니다. 그냥 정상적인 직장 생활을 하고 있는 사람들이 읽고 발상의 전환 차원에서는 뭐 그럭 괜찮은 책이 될지 모르겠지만… 중간 부분까진 정말 반복되는 잡스러운 내용도 많고, 당연한 내용도 너무 많았다. 결론만 말하면 되는데, 잡다한 내용을 이것저것 붙였다는 기분이랄까…

‘육일약국 갑시다’ 메가스터디 엠베스트 김성오 대표가 저서한 경영서이다. 2008삼성경제연구소 ‘휴가철 추천도서’ 으로 선정되기도 했던 이 책은 김성오 대표의 경영적 마인드를 잘 표현해 놓은 책이다.
육일약국의 의미는 6일만 약국을 운영한다하여 육일약국이고 ‘육일약국 갑시다’ 는 4.5평되는 작은 약국을 교통의 중점으로 만들기 위해 부단히 노력했던 김성오 대표의 실천이었다.
직원 한명의 작은 사무실에서 출발하게된 엠베스트는 메가스터디와 합병하여 현재 시가총액 1조에 다다를 정도로 큰 기업이 되었다. 책 내용에서 말하는 모든 내용에 대해 공감할 수는 없겠지만, 배우고 싶은 인물 중에 하나고 향후 내가 되고 싶은 자리기도 하다.
최근 시간날 때마다 많은 경영자들의 강연 내용을 들었다. 성공한 CEO들이 공통적으로 하는 말들은
1. ‘주인 정신을 가지고 일하라’
비록 자신의 회사는 아니지만, 내 회사처럼 나서서 일하는 사람은 결국 밖에 나와서도 성공한다는 것이다.
2. ‘신뢰, 신용을 잃지 마라’
이 책에서는 가입자수가 8만명임에도 불구하고 10만명으로 속여 거짓말을 하게 되면, 10만명이 되었을때 또 거짓말을 하게 된다는 것이다. 많은 경영자들이 바닥으로 떨어진 신뢰와 신용에 대해 어려움을 말하고 꼭 조심할 것을 당부한다.
3. 모방의 창조의 어머니다.
스티브 잡스, 빌게이츠. 모두 모방으로 최고의 부자가 됐다. 김성오 대표도 모방은 좋은 참고서이지 나쁜 것이 아니라고 말한다.

I met Sam in Kyoungju and he called me a few days ago. He suggested me to have dinner on this weekend if I’m free. It is a long time that someone suggested for dinner depressingly. It could be somewhat bothersome to me, but I went to see Sam.
He stayed at the golden pond guesthouse located in Daehakro, Seoul. He had no cellphone, so I went to the guesthouse to pick him up. As soon as I entered the guest house, I saw him. I asked him how his travel was. He was moved with the trip by ship to Jeju via Mokpo. He enjoyed sightseeing in Jeju and back to Mokpo, then He went to Chonju in order to eat Boiled rice with assorted mixtures with wild edible greens. Maybe he had to take a local bus from Mokpo and travel for more than two hours. And he came here as soon. There was so complicated story. But we tried to talk about sightseeing in the restaurant.
we would go into the town and eat a panbroiled octopus seasoned with red pepper. I made choices for him whatever he want to eat. so I readily accepted his idea. He told me he could eat hot and spicy food. Sam made all his efforts to understand Korean culture well all the time. I think that Canadian who I’ve met before tried to understand Korea all the time. He always enjoys eating Kimchi. He told me that he might miss the kimchi when he going to china. After dinner, we directly went to Chunggyecheon.
We came here at an opportune moment. There were the paper lanterns of annual conference. So we were looking around there and we could share our friendship. We talked until midnight with Rice wine and Panfried with green onion and then I came back to my house. Maybe We will meet in Canada for Canadian Rockies next year.
Sam is taking the slow ship to china on Tuesday. I’m worrying his safety. Hope is well.

Nowadays, I’m developing the real time statistics for cache server. I think cache server should be located as basic elements in order to make a content delivery network. The advantages of cache server are easy replication, expansion, usability and no obstacles so on. There are so many benefits when it is used in the field.
Once each of clients uses any cache server, I should be calculate Request of HTTP to get a graph. First, I get some MIB value in SNMP and then I’m trying to create some information from various factors.
The client normally connects to the server through global load balance machine as GDNS. It is similar to the DNS mechanism. The client would think that there exists just one host. (For example, when connecting to the Samsung.com, we just think there is one server. but is not.)
This address is so called the wideip. There exists many hosts and having the each of factors. I can process using this information. For instance, we can obtain the hit rate how divide Request of http into Request of success and then calculate percentage. Finally, we will be represented by the Round Robin Database (RRD). RRD data easily can be represented by graph.

I was paticipated in Company culture’s club on Wednesday. The meeting was held in Kahunaville.
I felt like enjoying dinner on the beach front of Thailand when I was sitting on the table. maybe many kids would love Kahunaville better than adult.
I felt the food was not worth the price. (what i mean is, The food was poor compared to its expensive price.) but I think that lunch set is a good thing. anyway the meeting broke up at ten in the evening. so late.
